Data Services

DataPeer partners with a wide–array of data communications service providers. We will research the bandwidths and providers suitable for the following applications:

Private Line

A direct channel specifically dedicated to a customer’s use between specific points. This is a non–switched circuit.

Metro Ethernet

As the market for next generation and IP–based services continues to grow, so does the demand for Metro Ethernet services. Flexible, scalable, cost–effective and easy to use, Metro Ethernet enables subscribers to enhance their businesses with advanced networking. With many Metro Ethernet services, subscribers can add bandwidth in hours instead of weeks or months.

Metro Ethernet services reduce capital and operational expenditures in three ways that could impact your decision:

Dedicated Internet Access

DataPeer helps you secure capacity without complexity through a complete line of Internet connectivity solutions.

DIA (Dedicated Internet Access) provides a local loop connection from your location to a service provider’s POP. Speeds range from a fractional T–1 to T–1 (1.5 Mbps) to DS3 (45 Mbps) to the OC level (155 Mbps and beyond) and are priced accordingly. DataPeer helps you assess the ideal bandwidth and price point for your business — whether through dedicated access or a virtual private network (VPN).

Dark Fiber

Although it is not ubiquitous, dark fiber is available to many service providers and enterprises for metropolitan and wide area links. In some instances, it can be more cost effective than leased lines for meeting high–capacity requirements. We’ll work alongside our carrier partners in this area to help you evaluate a dark fiber solution for your enterprise.

Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)

A means of digital communications that is capable of very high speeds. ATM is used for both LAN and WAN applications, transmission of images, voice or video and data. It does not involve routing, so it facilitates bandwidth management.

Frame Relay

Intended for cost effective data communication applications between local area networks (LAN) and the end points of wide area networks (WAN). Frame relay provides you with a dedicated connection, while eliminating leased-line costs. It is provided on a fractional T–1 or a T–1, and enterprises have the advantage of being able to select their service quality.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

The use of encryption in the lower protocol layers to provide a secure connection through an otherwise insecure network, typically the Internet. VPNs are generally cheaper than real private networks using private lines, but rely on having the same encryption system at both ends. The encryption may be performed by firewall software or possibly by routers.

We also offer an array of Internet-related services such as Dedicated Server Hosting and Collocation Services.
